My Mental health Update

Hey everyone  i'm putting this out there, fully aware that not everyone might vibe with it, but you know what? Who cares? I want to express a heartfelt thank you to those who've been by my side, supporting me through the ups and downs of my mental health journey. I'm in a good place—I want to emphasize that I'm not in a dark space or having suicidal thoughts. However, my anxiety has been acting up, and I find myself grappling with a lot on my mind. It's a mix of good and not-so-great things, and for those who care, these are the thoughts I'd share with you. I recently took on the challenge of applying for the NDIS, and let me tell you, it's been a tough process. The wait to hear back within the next 28 days adds another layer of uncertainty. On the positive side, incorporating gym sessions with my physiotherapist has been a game-changer for my mental well-being. I'm also lucky to have a fantastic psychologist I see every fortnight, and their support mean...

I've unwittingly embraced my physiotherapy signature catchphrase, 'holy smokes"

In the course of my physiotherapy sessions with George Campbell, I've unwittingly embraced his signature catchphrase, 'holy smokes.' It's fascinating to observe how language has a way of weaving itself into our daily lives, as I find myself incorporating this expression of surprise and enthusiasm into my own conversations. It's a testament to the positive impact of our sessions, not only on my physical well-being but also on the shared moments of humor and camaraderie that have become an unexpected yet cherished part of my journey towards better health."

Introduction: As Movember draws to a close, the razors come out, and many men bid farewell to their facial hair masterpieces, it's crucial to remember that the movement is about more than just mustaches. Movember is a global initiative that aims to raise awareness about men's health issues, particularly mental health and prostate cancer. While the month may be ending, the conversation surrounding these important topics should persist, especially as we transition into the festive season. Body: Reflecting on Movember's Impact Movember has successfully sparked conversations about men's health on a global scale. Throughout November, individuals, communities, and organizations have come together to raise funds and awareness for mental health and prostate cancer research. The iconic mustache has become a symbol for the cause, prompting discussions that challenge the stigma surrounding men's health issues. However, as the razors make their reappearance and the excitement o...

WOW......What a week.

This week marked a dedicated journey through 40 hours of work spread across five days. Starting on Monday, November 20th, 2023, with a 9 am to 4 pm shift, I set the pace for a week filled with productivity and collaboration.  Thursday, November 23rd, continued in a similar fashion, maintaining the 9 am to 4 pm routine. Friday, November 24th, and Saturday, November 25th, saw me clocking in from 7 am to 4 pm, ensuring a seamless transition into the weekend.  The pinnacle of the week unfolded on Sunday, November 26th, with an extended shift from 6:30 am to 6:15 pm. The highlight was undoubtedly the closing hours spent with Masato, Gus, and Andreas—affectionately known as 'the boys.' Working together not only fostered teamwork but also created a sense of camaraderie that made the work environment enjoyable.  The standout moment, however, was a compliment from Gus, who expressed his preference for closing and packing up the shop with me. This acknowledgment not only brightened...

Bee Brave: Novalie's Inspirational Journey of Art and Resilience

Image
In the world of art, there are tales that transcend mere creativity and beauty—stories that encapsulate the true strength and resilience of the human spirit. Novalie's story is one such extraordinary narrative. At the tender age of 5, Novalie was confronted with a diagnosis that would change her life's course—leukemia. For the next 4.5 years, she, alongside her family, grappled with the challenges of long hospital stays and the relentless fight against the illness. Yet, amidst these trying times, they found solace in something unexpected: art. Novalie's family, always lovers of art, discovered its therapeutic power during her treatment. Together, they transformed the sterile walls of the cancer ward into an inspiring gallery adorned with vibrant colors and uplifting quotes. Amidst the bleakness, they planted seeds of hope and beauty. The turning point arrived during the approach of Mother's Day in 2022 when Novalie, at the behest of her favorite nurses, crafted cards ...

Unexpected Birthday Joy: A Physiotherapy Tale

The familiar routine of my regular physiotherapy sessions took an unexpected turn recently when George Campbell my go-to therapist, was under the weather. This twist of fate led me to my other physiotherapist Isaiah Snell, a physiotherapist whose expertise not only addressed my concerns but added a touch of unexpected joy to my week. My visits to Isaiah were necessitated by my ongoing struggle with plantar fasciitis. His adept techniques in releasing the tightness provided a much-needed sense of relief. He didn't just stop at treatment; Isaiah equipped me with exercises aimed at facilitating my recovery. But as fate would have it, George's absence extended, prompting another visit to Isaiah's care, coincidentally on my birthday, the 10th of November 2023. Entering the clinic dressed for a birthday lunch with friends, Isaiah’s keen eye didn’t miss a beat. "Wow, you're all dressed up," he noted. I couldn't help but smile, sharing, "It's my birthda...

However, Apple Fitness+ has introduced an innovative way to combine exercise, nature, and mindfulness through their "Time to Walk" series, featuring renowned actress and mental health advocate Goldie Hawn. As I recently tuned in to Goldie Hawn's Time to Walk session, I was not only treated to an invigorating walk but also a heartwarming conversation on the importance of mental health. Connecting with Nature Goldie Hawn's Time to Walk begins with the calming sound of footsteps on a forest path, immediately transporting you to a natural setting. As she takes you on her own personal walk, you're immersed in the beauty of nature, allowing for a deep sense of connection with the outdoors.
