When I signed up with Fivestar Community Care, approached by Kifah Bulhan through Clickability, I was hopeful that I had found a supportive and professional service. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. This blog recounts my journey and the various issues I encountered, serving as a cautionary tale for others in similar situations.

The Hasty Onboarding Process

When Kifah Bulhan first contacted me, she presented Fivestar Community Care as a reputable and efficient service. The urgency with which she proceeded was concerning. Without giving me adequate time to research or consider other options, she arranged to visit me within half an hour to discuss the contract. By that evening, she expected me to sign the terms and conditions. This rushed process felt more like a sales pitch than a genuine effort to understand and meet my needs.

Poor Communication and Lack of Preparation

From the beginning, the communication with Fivestar Community Care was subpar. This issue extended beyond my interactions with Kifah to the support workers she sent. During our initial meet and greet sessions, it was evident that the support workers were uninformed about basic details such as my name, my disability, and my specific needs. Having to repeatedly provide this information was not only frustrating but also highlighted a significant lack of preparation on their part.

Signing the Contract Without Proper Review

One of the most troubling aspects of my experience was being pressured to sign the contract without being given the opportunity to read it thoroughly on my own. Kifah did not take the time to go through the contract with me, leaving me concerned about the terms and conditions I was agreeing to. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially in an industry where trust and clarity are paramount.

Discovering Concerning Background Information

Upon realizing the inadequacies in their service, I began to research more about Fivestar Community Care and Kifah Bulhan. To my surprise, I found that she had another company under her name which had closed in November 2023. This information, which I will not detail further, raised additional red flags about the stability and reliability of the service I had just signed up for.

A Delayed and Inadequate Profile

Another significant issue was the delay in receiving my profile. Only on June 28, 2024, did I finally receive an email containing a copy of my profile at 9:30 PM. This delay confirmed that the support workers had been attending to me without adequate knowledge of my needs and circumstances. Such negligence in providing essential information severely impacts the quality of care and support I received.

Unprofessional and Unprepared Support Workers

The support workers sent by Fivestar Community Care were unprepared and uninformed. They lacked basic knowledge about my needs, which is a fundamental aspect of providing effective and empathetic care. This unprofessionalism made me feel undervalued and disregarded, as if my well-being was not a priority.

Inadequate Handling of Concerns and Questions

Throughout my interactions with Fivestar Community Care, my concerns and questions were handled poorly. It became apparent that the primary focus was to secure my signature on the contract quickly, possibly driven by financial incentives rather than a genuine commitment to addressing my needs. This approach is not only unethical but also undermines the trust that clients place in their service providers.

My experience with Fivestar Community Care and Kifah Bulhan has been deeply disappointing. From the rushed onboarding process to the lack of communication and preparation, every step of the way has highlighted significant flaws in their service. As someone who values professionalism, transparency, and genuine care, I feel let down and neglected.

The Project: An Extraordinary Nigh

We were on holiday in Melbourne from Sunday to Wednesday, and Monday night was already a highlight because we attended  The Project . The experience was so awesome that we decided to get tickets for Tuesday night as well. This time, we invited our cousin Kasma to come along, and what an extraordinary night it turned out to be!
